Tournament Ownership
ICTF of Canada is the most forward thinking Taekwon-do organization in Canada. Instead of grabbing, argueing, and resenting each other for holding a tournament where the host keeps all the money for themseves, our organization has taken ownership of most events. This removes the jealousy inspired feelings often held when an individual hosts an event. The profit from these events is then used to fund numerous activities like the instructor training weekend. It helps to pay our insurance each year. It funds our many contests. In other words everyone gets to benefit from each event rather than only one club.
Event application
Any club that wishes to host an event must contact the appropriate director on the ICTF board of directors. While tournaments are organized and over seen by ICTF of Canada, the location of such events can be moved to various locations depending on certain criteria. Approval of events must be obtained from the proper director prior to any event being advertised. Entry fees and t-shirt sales remain the property of ICTF of Canada. Ring sponsors and other avenues of revenue are available for hosting clubs/cities. Any club may have an internal tournament at any time as long as they advise the tournament director and ensure the event will not conflict with official ICTF events. A 2 week window on either side of official ICTF events is required. A 2 club tournament is also allowed with proper notice to the tournament director and a 4 week window on either side of an official ICTF event is required.

Fees to charge at any event
The fee is for pattern and sparring. Other catagories can have additional fees. (High kick etc)
Add $10 for non ICTF clubs attending.
City level events -$40
Provincial level events - $60
Regional (Easterns/Westerns etc) level events - $60
International level events - $75
All of these events have free admission for friends and families.
This fee structure is designed to encourage more students to compete. Lower fees will certainly attract more competitors. The intent for tournaments is to have as many students as possible get together and have a great experience. Most events have free admission for spectators!
